Football Expert Chris Sutton Faces Off Against Artist Murs in Premier League Forecasts
Arsenal's 10-game victorious run came to an end by Sunderland prior to the international break, however will the Premier League frontrunners recover against local foes Tottenham this Sunday?
"{I believe like Arsenal are light years ahead of Tottenham currently but Spurs boss Thomas Frank will have a strategy for this match," stated football specialist Chris Sutton.
"The Spurs manager will try to neutralize Arsenal, who have not always been at their sparkling best this season - but Mikel Arteta's side usually still manage to win."
Sutton is making predictions for all 380 Premier League fixtures this term, versus AI, fans and a range of guests.
In week 12, he takes on singer Olly Murs, who is a Manchester United fan.
The singer's latest record, Knees Up, is available on Friday.
Soccer and Parenting Experiences
Olly is a skilled soccer player as well as a accomplished singer and has been a star of multiple Soccer Aid matches down the years - but he is not intending a professional return as a player.
"{I actually played in a charity match the other night for a mate of mine," he explained. "My side was trailing 3-1 when I came off in the second half, and they went on to win 4-3, so you can read into that what you want!
"I continue to love football, but I injured my knee a few years ago and it even now hasn't fully recovered. I hope I could play more but the uncertainty of the sport means it's too risky for me in my career to do it seriously again.
"Additionally I am forty-one now, and we are not everyone is Cristiano Ronaldo, are we!? No, I am very happy not playing football and I am gearing up for the time that my daughter or boy chooses to play instead."
Murs and his wife Amelia Tank have a young family, Madison and their son, and he is ready to emulate his dad by taking on the role of their manager.
"I won't force football on our kids but I've already told Amelia that if they do get the passion for it then I will have to go and get my manager qualifications - and I will probably be coaching their weekend soccer side," he said.
"I observed my nephews play a lot, and I really got into it, and I obviously owned a football club for a while too.
"My father coached with us when I was a kid, which is likely where I get it from. He managed our side for two or three years and had a wonderful time with it. That might be the future for me as well, and I am excited to it!"
Premier League Predictions
Weekend, 22 November
- Turf Moor, 12:30 GMT
Chelsea might have to wait a bit longer for their star's return from injury but their attack is now stronger with Joao Pedro and Liam Delap both returned to fitness.
In my opinion this game will be fairly close, though. The Clarets are disciplined and their sole at Turf Moor defeats so far have been against the Reds and Arsenal.
This smells of a 1-1 draw to me, but I am in fact going to choose the London side to win narrowly for what would be their third consecutive league win in a row.
The expert's forecast: 1-2
The singer's prediction: Chelsea will be superior. 1-3
AI's outlook: 0-2
- Vitality Stadium, 15:00 GMT
Bournemouth have been defeated in their previous couple games - albeit both of them were away - but they got thoroughly beaten by Villa last time out which surprised me.
On the other hand, West Ham won back-to-back victories before the international break and, although both of those fixtures were at their stadium, they appear competitive again.
The Hammers' only on the road win this campaign came at Nottingham Forest in August, when West Ham manager Nuno was previously that team's manager.
Therefore, what exactly do I go with here - will it be the Hammers extending their run under Nuno, or Bournemouth responding?
I am going to go with the Cherries, because I think what occurred against Aston Villa was a anomaly.
Sutton's forecast: 2-0
Olly's prediction: Bournemouth are performing strongly but the visitors have improved under their boss. 2-2
The algorithm's pick: 1-1
- Amex Stadium, 15:00 GMT
Brentford were seen as one of the frontrunners for the drop before the campaign began, but they have impressed a few observers under Keith Andrews and are in fine fettle with three wins in their last four games.
My son told me to get Bees forward Igor Thiago in my fantasy soccer squad a few weeks back and, unfortunately, I ignored the advice.
Thiago will probably find the net again on Saturday but I am nonetheless not going to pick him or support the away side at Amex Stadium.
The Bees have not had much fortune on the road this season, and Brighton are always decent at their stadium. Brentford will try to hit them on the break but I think the home manager's team carry much more of a threat.
The analyst's forecast: 2-1
The singer's prediction: This could be a match where you expect there is going to be a many scores but it actually turns out to be quite close. 1-1
The computer's outcome: 2-1
- Craven Cottage, 15:00 GMT
It is a huge game for the Cottagers, who have lost five of their last six games.
Fulham have have plenty of talent in their team but it nonetheless seems like they could be dragged into a drop zone battle.
As for Sunderland, well they are the surprise package of the top flight season so far.
Their display in the 2-2 tie with Arsenal last time out was excellent. We have not seen any other team disrupt the North London side like that this season, and Sunderland were fully competitive for them.
The logical choice to do to back the Black Cats here, because they are clearly capable of disrupting Fulham up too and, the previous occasion they were in west London, they beat the Blues at the end of last month.
However I am not going to choose that. Rather, I really need to continue opposing Sunderland with my forecasts. I am claiming a lot of credit for their good outcomes because they clearly love to defy my predictions.
Considering Fulham's home form, the sole team they have been defeated by is Arsenal. Marco Silva's team will be extremely eager for a good result, so I am going to say they will pick up three much-needed points.
The expert's forecast: 1-0
The guest's choice: I know Sunderland are doing well and additionally that the hosts are on a poor run... but they have still been decent at Craven Cottage this season. 2-0
The algorithm's outlook: 2-0
- Anfield, 15:00 GMT
It is a tough one to call. Liverpool have suffered seven of their last ten matches in all competitions, but might they be one of the sides who profit from the {international break|
