Performer Denies Anti-Vaxxer Stance After Voicing Disputed Covid Film

The acclaimed actor has lent his narration to a new documentary that casts doubt on the efficacy of vaccines and lauds one-time health official RFK Jr.

The Film's Contentious Basis

Named "Plague of Corruption," the film is inspired by a bestselling book co-authored by a disgraced researcher, who gained notoriety during the health crisis for claims that the illness was caused by a faulty batch of the influenza shot.

The book's co-author, a producer, has also written books with conspiracy-prone figure Alex Jones. Heckenlively took to social media hailing Neeson's role in the documentary.

An Unequivocal Denial

The team of Liam Neeson have provided a comment strongly denying implications that he subscribes to anti-vaccine views.

"We all recognize that misconduct might be present within the pharmaceutical industry, but that cannot be equated to opposition to vaccines," the comment explains. "Neeson is not, and remains not, against vaccines. His considerable work with the UN children's agency underscores his consistent support for public-health initiatives."

The statement continued that the star had no hand in the film's editorial content and that concerns about its content are best addressed to the producers.

Central Assertions Within the Film

According to the documentary, the narration spoken by Neeson features several provocative points:

  • It claims that pro-vaccine voices have insisted on "complete compliance" to health authorities.
  • It posits that "science has become highly politicized."
  • RFK Jr is featured claiming, "The major issue with vaccines is that they simply are not adequately tested."
  • The film further attacks Covid lockdowns, claiming they caused psychological harm that resulted in thousands of lives.
  • Regarding pandemic shots, it mentions a report that they were "developed too quickly" and seen as "dangerous experiments."

Past Background and Current Debates

The documentary includes a past television report about clinical trials on children, which was afterwards the topic of a formal apology by the corporation for editorial breaches.

In recent weeks, the political figure instructed the national health agency to change its longstanding position that there is no link between immunizations and autism. This supposed link is also referenced in the film, despite a recent study from the global health body reiterating no connection has been found.

A Past Position of Endorsement

Differing from the film's message, Neeson has in the past expressed clear advocacy for vaccines in his position as a charity ambassador.

In 2022, he called vaccines as "an extraordinary human success story," stating that "The debate about vaccines in the past few years has overlooked how much positive impact they have done... It is perhaps one of the biggest collective achievements in human history."

"Plague of Corruption" concludes with Neeson's narration stating, "This isn't the finish of our journey. This is the start of a new chapter."
