Renowned Star The actor Pat Finn, Known For Appearances in Friends and The Middle, Dies at Age 60.
US performer Pat Finn, who was seen in popular programs including "Friends", Seinfeld and "The Middle", has died at the age of 60.
The comedy and improvisation performer succumbed at his home in Los Angeles, California this Monday having undergone treatment for cancer from 2022 onward, as reported by reports.
"Pat never met a stranger - solely future friends he had yet to meet," his loved ones said in a statement.
They added that he had "embraced life completely - with happiness and energy".
A Notable Career on Screen
Finn's first television role was on the George Wendt Show in the mid-90s, where he portrayed the lead character's sibling.
He was also seen in a regular part on Murphy Brown from 1995 to 1997.
He played the part of the character Joe Mayo in "Seinfeld" in the late 90s, depicting a host known to delegate burdensome jobs to his guests.
In the 90s and 2000s, he appeared as a guest star on numerous hit series, including:
- "King of Queens"
- "Friends"
- That '70s Show
- House
He was most recognized for playing Bill Norwood in The Middle, featuring across eight series between 2011 and 2018.
His film credits are It's Complicated (2009) and Santa Paws 2: The Santa Pups (2012).
A Life in Improv
Beyond his television work, Finn was an improv performer and served as an educator at the University of Colorado, where he was an adjunct professor.
He was a member of a six-member improv team called Beer Shark Mice.
"He coached, befriended and mentored countless students during his career and it's nearly impossible to find a person anyplace who has anything negative to say about him," his loved ones expressed.
Offering condolences, fellow actor actor Richard Kind remarked there was "nobody more kind, gentle, and humorous, authentic human being you could encounter".
"Always positive, assisting others to improve and be funnier. A wonderful father and man," Kind wrote online.
Pat Finn is leaves behind his wife Donna, his children, and his family.
