The British government is ready to advance with using the total value of immobilized Russia's assets to bolster the Ukrainian military campaign, Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer has announced.

In a joint statement, the leaders of the Britain, France, and Germany asserted that this joint measure would escalate tension on Moscow's head Vladimir Putin and urge the Russian Federation to engage in negotiations.

They further noted that the initiative would be executed in close cooperation with the US.

United Kingdom restrictions have immobilized more than £25bn of Russia's resources since Moscow launched its full-scale invasion against Ukraine in 2022. Yet, up to this point, resources allocated to Ukraine using Russia's holdings had only been sourced from earnings and returns generated on them.

Sir Keir assured Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky that the Britain, France, and Germany were aligned in their goal to push forward toward employing the total worth of the frozen Russian sovereign funds to halt hostilities.

He stated that additional restrictions soon would increase the strain on Moscow.

This declaration follows EU officials met in the Danish capital previously to discuss utilizing seized Russia's funds for a 140-billion-euro loan to Ukraine.

Recently, American leader Donald Trump called on G7 allies to seize or utilize frozen Russia's holdings, according to news outlets.

The value of seized Russian assets in the Europe is calculated to be approximately €211bn.

The Russian government launched large-scale missile and drone strikes across the Ukrainian territory on recently, leading to blackouts in large parts of Ukraine's capital, the city, and several other zones.

Several persons were lost their lives and no fewer than 20 people were wounded in the strike, the Ukrainian government said.

In a update on social media following the incident, Zelensky wrote that the strategic strike targeted non-military and power facilities.

"What's needed is not empty words but concrete steps - from the US, Europe, and the Group of Seven - in providing air defence systems and implementing restrictions," he wrote.

"Every sanction decision diminishes Moscow's military apparatus," Zelensky wrote, in a different message.

In the same period, Zelensky stated to reporters he would encourage Sir Keir to enter the weapons procurement program, under which partner nations purchase military equipment from the US to give to the Ukrainian forces.

While praising the UK's firm backing for Ukraine, he said it should indicate firmly that it would participate in the program, as well as apply additional restrictions on Russia.
